Handover Ceremony of Education Project Takes Place in Azerbaijan

Baku, Azerbaijan - "On May 3, 2023, a Handover Ceremony was held at the STEAM Innovation Center in Baku, Azerbaijan to mark the successful completion of 'The Project for Teacher's Capacity Building and Establishment of Educational Information System for the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan,' which was implementedwith financial and technical support of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The event was attended by government officials from Azerbaijan and South Korea, as well as representatives from the implementing organization, Ubion.
During the opening speeches, Mr. Hasan Hasanli, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Science and Education, and Mr. Eun-Yong Lee, Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan, expressed their gratitude to the Korean Government for their continued support and collaboration in the education sector.
On the occasion of the Handover Ceremony, the Project Manager, Mr. InseakYoo, who is the Executive Director of Ubion, gave a detailed presentation on the project's key components and outcomes. This included the successful establishment of an e-learning system, completion of the capacity building program for teachers, delivery of equipment for the Ministry's Data Center, and provision of high-quality multimedia equipment for the newly established Multimedia Studio.
Following the signing of the Handover Document by Mr. VusalKhanlarov, Head of the Bureau on ICT for Education, Mr. InseakYoo, Project Manager Executive Director of Ubion, and Mr. Jong Hyun Moon, Country Director of the KOICA Office in Azerbaijan, there was a visit to the Multimedia Studio Room. Participants were shown how the studio works and how the contents are produced, highlighting the innovative and state-of-the-art technology provided.
It should be noted that the Record of Discussion of the Project was signed between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Korea in 2017. Since then, the project master plan was developed, the e-learning system was established, the capacity building program for teachers and high level officials was completed, and equipment for the data center of the Ministry was delivered. The project also included the development of e-learning contents and the design of a high-quality multimedia studio room, which was provided with state-of-the-art multimedia equipment.
